Payer Whispers surface key insights about payers, such as market share, covered lives, and MRF data quality.

It consolidates data from:

1. Payer Scorecard

   • payer_scorecard_overall_score: A proof-of-concept score evaluating payer performance.

2. Commercial Covered Lives, Market Share (% of Covered Lives), and Market Share Rankings

   • CBSA-Level Metrics
     • cbsa_payer_covered_lives: Number of lives covered by the payer within a specific CBSA.
     • cbsa_market_share: Payer’s percentage share of covered lives in the CBSA.
     • cbsa_rank: Payer ranking within the CBSA (rank 1 = highest market share).
   • State-Level Metrics
     • state_payer_covered_lives: Number of lives covered by the payer within a state.
     • state_market_share: Payer’s percentage share of covered lives in the state.
     • state_rank: Payer ranking within the state (rank 1 = highest market share).
   • National-Level Metrics
     • national_payer_covered_lives: Number of lives covered by the payer nationwide.
     • national_market_share: Payer’s percentage share of covered lives nationally.
     • national_rank: Payer ranking across the country (rank 1 = highest market share).

Covered lives and market shares are pulled from Policy Reporter data (see methodology/airflow/references/policy_reporter)
